The first concert I saw from D was on the 8th of May 2011 in concert hall the Melkweg in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, together with my girlfriend and a good friend of mine. I wasn't a fan in particular back then, I just enjoy going to J-rock/J-pop concerts in general. This was my second J-rock concert, right after MIYAVI in March of the same year.
Before the concert, I did listen to all their albums, in particular to their VAMPIRE SAGA one. I loved their music right away and I was excited to go see them live!

Their concert was great, it was amazing to see them playing live for the first time! We were standing pretty close to the stage, which was a great bonus! I was able to touch quite a few hands, including Asagi's, during their performance ;)
After the concert I bought a shirt and a poster. I brought the poster to the signing session which they held afterwards. It was a nice experience to stand in front of them that close! My girlfriend also got a poster signed, while my friend got the VAMPIRE SAGA CD signed. That same CD is in my possession now, as he gave it to me as a birthday present a little more than a month later!
After this concert, I became a big fan, big enough to being called a "fanboy". I started collecting their releases, starting with their albums. In my next post, I'll start with showing those.
Merchandise European Tour 2011 - VAMPIRE SAGA |
Welcome to the world of blogging, haha! :)
ReplyDeleteThat shirt is cool! :) I bought the tour t-shirt with list of all the venues on back.
Haha thank you ^^
DeleteYa I like it too! I can't remember the other designs they sold, but my shirt also has all the venues and dates on the back. Sadly, by wearing and washing the shirt quite a few times, the picture on the front faded away a bit.
Mine has just a text on the front. No pretty picture of the band. :< That's a pity but that happens usually for most of printed shirts. :/
DeleteAh alright! Didn't they sell the one I have at the venue you went to? Ya, it happened to most of my band shirts, although some are of better quality than others.
DeleteBy the way, do you receive an email notification when I reply to your comment on my blog? I need to check you blog to see if you replied to mine as I don't get a notification.
No they didn't. I think they were already sold out once I got to the merch table. ://
DeleteNo I don't (and no one else either). That's one of the biggest minus point on blogger, haha.
Aww alright. Well, at least you got a shirt anyway! :)
DeleteHmm that's too bad! Although there is a "Subcribe by email" button on the bottom of this page which says it will send follow-up comments to my mail. I tried it on your blog.
I have tried that subscribe by email thing but it has never worked for me. :/ For some reason I don't get emails.
DeleteHmm alright, that's weird.. I'll see what happens when you reply to me on your blog.
DeleteI think I will post about the albums today ^^
